FAQ
-
What is microblading?
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing. The artist uses a small hand-held tool to create fine, feather-like strokes to mimic the appearance of real hairs, and enhance your natural features. Pigment, rather than ink, is used to create the tone and color of the brows.
-
How long is each appointment?
The first initial appointment takes about 3 hours.
The artist begins with a consultation, where you decide the shape and desired pigmentation of the area being microbladed. The actual procedure only takes about an hour.
Follow up appointments take about an hour.
-
How long does microblading last?
The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years to maintain shape, color, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:
- Skin type (oily skin fades faster)
- Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)
- Sun exposure (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment)
- Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo
-
Does it hurt?
We do everything we can to ensure you feel as little discomfort as possible during the procedure.
A topical anesthetic is applied at the time of your arrival, and reapplied once the procedure has begun. Some guests may feel mild discomfort, but it is relatively pain-free for most.
(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)
-
Can I exercise after getting microblading?
You must avoid vigorous work outs for 7-10 days after the procedure. The salt in sweat can fade the pigment quickly, and give poor results.
Light exercise is okay, but be sure to clean the tattooed area with luke warm water as soon as you are finished.
-
Can I get cosmetic tattoo's while pregnant?
No. We will not perform any cosmetic tattooing (microblading) on pregnant women.
